We're live at the Gun Rights Policy Conference in San Francisco,

broadcasting from the Hyatt Hotel, where we are doing this.

There are just about 800 people, 800 people from all over the country are here.

A lot of them from California, as you might expect, to hear these speakers, to talk with each other, to visit.

The speaker list is incredible.

We've got Larry Pratt from the Gun Owners of America, and Larry did a great job.

John Snyder from the Citizens Committee, he's the legislator there, I mean the lobbyist, Jeff Knox from the Firearms Coalition.

Just tons of people.

John Lott, who has a new edition, the third edition of his book, More Guns Less Crime.

And one of the things that John Lott said, it was very interesting.

He said he thinks that we're going to have an increased role for empirical evidence

in the gun rights battle.

He said, look, judges don't want to do things that hurt people.

Even if you say, okay, well, this is the law.

If they look at the law and they said, yeah, but, you know, I just think that putting

more guns in the hands of people results in more deaths, that even if it's the law, they can and do rule against you.

So he said, one of the things we're going to have to have is good empirical evidence.

And he has been, of course, doing this research for two decades now.

One of the things he said yesterday was very interesting.
