also of course we're going to be talking about what's going on in the news and

lots of stuff happening in the news. My heavens, Seattle, we knew this was going to happen.

This was not a surprise.

In Seattle, a court has struck down the Seattle Park Gun Band.

Now, here's the deal. In the state of Washington, as is the case in many states,

there is a state preemption law. What that means is that only the state can pass gun control laws.

The purpose of that is not to try to run roughshod over cities and tell them you can't control your cities it's to say look our

citizens in this state need to know what the laws are as they travel around and

if you have a firearm in your car your truck truck, your traveling, whatever.

If you go from city to city, from jurisdiction to jurisdiction,

we need to know that we have the same gun laws,

wherever we go throughout the state.

Otherwise, you'd be breaking the law and wouldn't know it.

So that's what preemption laws are all about.
