| 0:29.6 | and one of the very important aspects of samadhi meditation is that it's deeply attuned, deeply connected to our subjective experience. |
| 0:55.0 | And the contrast to that is objectifying our experience, |
| 1:03.0 | or being with the objective experience. |
| 1:08.0 | And there's wisdom to both sides. |
| 1:13.9 | There's not much wisdom to objectifying exactly. |
| 1:21.5 | But we often, when we suffer around ourselves or suffer even around others, |
| 1:34.6 | there's a strong tendency to be caught up in objectification, seeing the objects. So seeing objectifying ourselves, seeing ourselves as an object of our ideas, our projections, our fantasies, our thoughts about what the future will look like, |
| 1:52.7 | thoughts about the past, and building up all kinds of stories about the past. |
| 2:07.4 | And there's a removal, a stepping away from the immediate subjective world. |
| 2:14.2 | And not subjective in the sense that subjective because of our opinions, |
| 2:22.2 | our preferences, our likes and dislikes, but a much more deeply subjective experience of being in the experience of our body, the embodiment, to be sensing and feeling the quality of our immediate subjective experience. |
| 2:45.7 | And one of the things to notice is whether in our subjective experience, are we, in fact, |
| 2:57.2 | viewing it through some idea, some concept, some idea of self, of me, myself, |
| 3:13.7 | some idea of how I'm supposed to be, some idea of what has happened to me. Of course things happen to us, but then we live in the idea of that, some |
| 3:20.6 | idea of what's supposed to happen in the future, some idea of what meditation is supposed to be like, |
| 3:27.0 | what we're supposed to experience, what's supposed to happen, |
| 3:30.0 | and we're seeing the world through the filter of these ideas. |
| 3:38.0 | The alternative here is to feel, to sense the immediacy of our, of the quality of our subjective experience. |
