which is about an hour northeastern Nairobi.

Emily Degan is a senior reporter with the Guardian.

And for the past few months,

she's been working on a story with the Bureau of Investigative Journalism.

So, one night in August last year,

he was doing something that a lot of men in the area do.

He was going to steal pineapples from a huge farm

that dominates the local area.

In groups at night, men make their way into the plantation

and they harvest pineapples, carry them off in sacks

and then go and sell them on the highways.

In his group that night was a 22-year-old man

called Stephen Fueh-Noyke.
