Good morning. I'm so thankful that you're listening in today.

We are going to be working straight out of scripture today, James Chapter 3, regarding the tongue.

The title of the episode is guarding our tongue, which I'm sure are articles and sermons you've heard

many times over, but the real richness in today's study is looking behind what is motivating that speech.

We get pretty hard on ourselves when our speech is not consistent

with our faith, but what's driving that discrepancy and how can we work on that? I'm optimistic

because recognition of how things are working from the heart outward is exactly the way that we

know how to pray. It's exactly the way we know how to grow, and ultimately we just

see better fruit, and that fruit comes in more peaceable and appropriate speech. So we'll break

down today's episode into three pieces. I'll start by reading a little bit from James 3 and
