Summary

Tweens, teens, (and the parents who love them!) go through a lot between the ages of 9 through 17. There's growing societal pressure, shifting friendships, mounting responsibility, and body changes. Fun, right?! In Episode 358, Meagan and Sarah pick up where we left off last week's conversation, but this time it's all about the older kids. While acknowledging every child is different and being sensitive to our kids' privacy, we remember the sweetness of kids just-on-the-cusp of growing up and tell stories about adolescent awkwardness and attitudes. It can be a bit of a rocky journey, but every teen eventually comes into their own. Whether you're in the thick of it with us or want a fun peek ahead, this episode is a great reminder that kids--and motherhood--are ever-evolving. of life, but we both know that motherhood's a lot easier when real moms share

tips and encouragement. And remind you that it's really all gonna be okay. We're

not experts. We're parents who've been there. We're not perfect. We're real.

Fifty-eight of the mom hour. I am Megan Francis here with Sarah Powers. Hi Sarah.

Hey Megan, how are you? I'm good and I'm ready to talk about our kids again.

0:35.0

Or not even just our kids, but kids in general. All the kids. Last all of the kids.

Last week we talked about kind of a year-by-year look at the essence of each

0:47.4

age from two to eight. So kind of like what our general and some specific

0:52.2

memories were about those ages, but also just kind of the feeling we get when

0:55.4

we think about a four-year-old versus a five-year-old. And like we said last

0:58.6

week, we know this is very subjective because your four-year-old may be

1:03.6

very different for mine and all of my kids were different at different ages,

1:07.1

but just sort of our generalized memories around that. And this week we're

1:10.6

picking up where we left off and we're going to talk about ages nine through

1:14.5

about 17. So you know, some of these you haven't personally experienced Sarah,

1:19.6

but you know, I think that I can talk a little bit generally about it. You

1:23.0

could ask me questions when we get to those older ages, but we've both experienced

1:27.9

up to 13, right? So yeah, almost 14 and almost 14. I will say that when you haven't

1:34.1

experienced an age range yet, or maybe this is just me, but hopefully not just me,
