I'm going to share a short grounding mindfulness practice called a rainbow walk.

First, let's settle in together with the sound of the bells. So periodically on this podcast I like to give you short practical easy to apply practices that you can use in your life to help you ground, reduce stress.

No philosophy, no deep eastern wisdom, just a simple practice that you can use quickly and effectively.

And that's what today is.

This practice is called the Rainbow Walk.

It's something you can do inside or outside and what it entails is as you're

walking looking around and finding something that is the color of the rainbow, one of the

colors of the rainbow. So looking for something that's red, looking for something

that's orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, and any other colors you would like to add.

The reason this can be a useful grounding exercise is because it takes you out of your thoughts and into your

sensory experience.

When you're actively looking for something that you can see, you're not as consumed by whatever the story was in

your mind at the moment. In the same way that if you're sitting down and you feel your

feet grounded into the floor.

You're not going to be as consumed by the thoughts moving through your mind.

But in addition to its grounding capacity,
