Well, a bunch of years ago, Steve Arterburn was on the show, and he said something

that I'm still thinking about today.

He said, Susie, the great epidemic of the church

is unresolved grief. We've all experienced many losses, but we've not slowed down long

enough to face them and to heal from them. I honestly think he said that seven, eight years ago,

maybe. And I would say those words are even truer today.

You know, this last Saturday I was leaving a speaking event, and I received a call about our event that's coming up this weekend.

And the senior pastor's wife, the conference director, woman's ministry director, mother of young children, names Marie Savage, sold out follower of Christ.

On Saturday morning, went out for a run, was struck by a car, and died.

And the town is reeling, and the church is reeling.

And this ministry leader said, we're not sure what we're going to do at the conference next weekend.

I said, I'm here to serve whatever you need.

If you need to cancel, do that, whatever you need.

Well, the next day, they reconnected and said the whole church is rallying. Church leaders from around the communities

are coming forward and in droves to help out. And we feel like we need to do this conference

just to honor how big God was in Marie. Would you just be praying? Would you pray for me?
