Summary

Today would've been my mother’s 88th birthday. It’s bittersweet, but a wonderful opportunity to talk about grief. With changing dynamics and holidays spent alone, grieving is an ever flowing process. And because of that I would like to introduce you to Sandra Morgan. She is the co-founder of Letters from Elizabeth, a Subscription service in the form of letters. Once subscribed you are sent thoughtfully penned, semi-monthly letters of grief to those that have experienced loss.   https://www.lettersfromelizabeth.com/ Listen to the Podcast: https://bit.ly/Over50andFlourishingwithDominiqueSachsePodcast Website: https://dominiquesachse.tv/ Book: https://dominiquesachse.tv/book/ Insta: https://www.instagram.com/dominiquesachse/?hl=en Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DominiqueSachse/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@dominiquesachse?lang=en Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXrsVPFsk-66NTaoGMXoPFQ Thanks to my Sponsors: Get 15% off OneSkin with the code OVER50 at https://www.oneskin.co/ #oneskinpod Go to https://www.cometeer.com/OVER50 to get a FREE Fellow travel tumbler when you sign up! Hi, everybody. So great to see you on today's Over 50 and Flourishing. Today's episode is a little bittersweet for me.

0:07.8

It lands on a day that would have been my mother's 88th birthday here December 11th.

0:15.2

And as difficult as this day is for me, I thought, what a rare and sweet opportunity to be able to

0:23.1

talk about something that not only will help me through my grieving process, but you as well.

0:28.7

If this is something that you're going through, especially during the holiday season, when

0:32.6

grieving can be especially difficult when we are really having to change family dynamics,

0:40.3

rituals, and things that have become such a part of our fabric that no longer are.

0:46.3

And what does that look like and what does that feel like, especially during times of being alone

0:51.3

or not having the people in our lives that we're so accustomed to having

0:55.8

and all these traditions and the way that they were shaped in ways that we're so comfortable

1:00.2

and familiar. So I wanted today's guest to really be able to help me, to help us, through

1:06.7

this process, and it's done through an incredibly unique and special idea, one that

1:12.0

touched me personally and I really wanted to share with you. So my guest today not only has

1:17.5

a deep understanding about grief herself, but also, like I said, a unique way to be able to express

1:23.8

that and impact others. Her name is Sandra Morgan, and she is the co-founder of

1:28.8

Letters from Elizabeth. It's basically a subscription service that offers stories of grief

1:34.9

to those who have experienced loss. Now, these stories can be very heartwarming or kind of

1:41.1

heart rendering, gut-wrenching, depending on,, depending on what it is that's being discussed

1:46.0

because they're coming from somebody who has experienced grief herself and what that looks

1:51.6

like in the expression of that.

1:53.3

And as you know, the grieving journey takes you on a roller coaster ride.

1:56.4

And I think it's important to be able to feel connected to those stories that share that journey with you and make you feel like you're not alone.
