I'm a very harsh critic of Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

It makes a lot of the party loyalist folks angry.

And I will tell you, it's for the very reason that my children are now thankful that my

wife and I are disciplinarians.

If all you ever tell your child is how wonderful they are, no matter what they're doing

wrong, then you're going to raise a spoiled brat and you're going to regret it.

There has to be discipline.

Dare to discipline.

That was the number one most recommended book that listeners gave me or recommended for

me when my first son, Michael, was coming home.

And I remember, I've told this story a lot, so forgive me, but I remember thinking, man,

you people are some real creepers, all you'll care about is discipline.

I just want to love my child while I came to learn, now you got to discipline.

If all a child gets is affirmation and never any correction, you are raising a monster.

And my children often say that they get more discipline than most and that they're grateful

for that now.

And that's why other adults will talk about how respectful they are.

Well, that's how I want it to be.

I want people to see in them young men who have purpose and direction and respect and who

honor other people and themselves.

Anyway, so I've often criticized our governor, Greg Abbott, but when he does something right,

I'm also willing to praise that and encourage it because it's not personal.
