This week, Francis Chan confronts the temptation to fit God into our human

understanding, because knowing God isn't about figuring him out. It's about surrendering to the one

who was, who is, and who always will be. Last week, we continued in our series on the Holy Spirit, and I talked about the Holy Spirit

being a person, not just a force, not just a power, not just this inanimate, you know,

power that we can kind of harness for ourselves, but to recognize that he is a person.

We refer to him as he. This week, we're going to talk about the Holy Spirit as he relates to deity.

In other words, is the Holy Spirit God? And as we talk about this, I want us to be very careful, so I'm going to throw a verse on

the screen. I alluded to it last week, but we need to focus on it this week. Deuteronomy 29,

verse 29 says this, the secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever that we may follow all the

words of this law.

Okay, right here in this verse, the Bible explains, God explains that there are secret, excuse me,

secret, secret things secret secret secret okay so there are things that

you can't know okay one of the things i i love to do um is i love to take a difficult concept

and simplify it for people i just enjoy enjoy that. I'd like to figure

something out and then explain to where even a child could understand. There's a temptation when it comes

to God to want to do the same thing, is to simplify Him. And you guys, that's just not right.

There needs to be exactly what the scripture says,

this understanding that there are secret things about God that you cannot know.
