I'm Pace and McElvin and this is the WithPace podcast.

Hey everyone, I wanted to jump on here quickly and just knock out a little gravel burn preview

0:16.6

episode. I'll keep it short and sweet. I won't even make you get through any ads or anything.

0:24.2

But with seven stage recap episodes coming up in succession here over the next week,

0:31.1

I thought it might be nice to set the stage a little bit. And also, after going to the venue

0:36.8

this morning and just kind of

0:39.3

being floored by the professional of this professionalism of this race already, the scope, the hype,

0:47.4

1:29.8

1:36.5

starts in Nizna, which is right on the coast, just inside the easternmost boundary of the

1:42.9

Western Cape. But it's still a full five hours,

1:46.4

five hours drive east of Cape Town. So Cape Town's kind of over on the west side of the

1:51.9

Western Cape, and we're five hours further east, but still just inside the Western Cape. So we're

1:56.7

kind of right in the middle of the bottom of the South African coast.

2:01.5

And Nyzna also happens to be where Matt Beers grew up, which is kind of a fun fact.

2:06.2

I know he's very excited to be here and no doubt has a little bit of extra inspiration.
