Summary

Prosecutors in Pennsylvania have uncovered disturbing details in connection with an alleged 34-year-old grave robber.

Police arrested Jonathan Gerlach, of Ephrata, as he left Mount Moriah Cemetery “holding a burlap bag, crow bar, and other assorted items.” He’s now facing over 500 criminal charges in connection to alleged break-ins, including 100 counts of abuse of a corpse, desecration, theft, and more.

The reported burglaries started in early November and continued until December, according to the Delaware County, Office of the District Attorney. Police arrested Gerlach on January 6.

Now, Joseph Scott Morgan and Dave Mack dig up the dirt on the grave robber who allegedly has over 100 human skulls in his house, as well as mummified body parts.

Probably one of my favorite Bible stories, Old Testament stories out there is one concerning Abraham.

0:25.0

And it's fascinating to me, the story in particular, because it goes to the heart of, you know,

0:33.8

what you think about as far as the love of God and provisions and all those sorts of things.

0:39.5

The story is actually Isaac, his son, being taken by Abraham to a specific location where, this is wild, where God has directed Abraham to sacrifice his son.

And, you know, when you think about it, you look at it, you think, well, this has to do with

faith. It has to do with God's provision. Like, well, God, you hear people say in Christian circles, God will make a way, all right?

1:17.3

You hear that a lot.

And the name of that mountain where the sacrifice, where the Jewish faith believes this took place is a place called Mount

Moriah and it's I don't know foundationally it's a it's a critical story that

1:37.9

weaves itself all the way through the Bible right well today I'm going to talk about another Mount Mariah. This Mariah

doesn't necessarily have to do with God's provision. It has to do with a singular individual

who sought to make a harvest from a cemetery named Mount Moriah,

2:26.8

And I have to do, I teach a clandestine graves class at Jack State.

2:31.9

And one of the first questions I ask my students is tell me the difference between a graveyard and a cemetery. Have we talked about that before?

2:39.8

I don't know if we did on the air. I know off the air we talked about it because I remember being confused as to kind of like coffin versus casket. Casket, yeah. And there is a difference.

2:50.5

Yeah, there is. Casket, yeah. And there is a difference.
