Smith and Callie Black. Hey, it's Callie Black here with today's thought. Let's open up to Numbers,

0:12.7

Chapter 11, verse 1. The children of Israel ate manna daily, and they started to complain about it. In Numbers, chapter 11, verse one, we read. And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord. Manna is usually compared to the daily gospel stuff that we are asked to do, like prayer or scripture study. If we use this analogy,

0:38.4

then technically the Israelites were doing those good things each day. But the problem was that

0:46.2

they had utterly lost their gratitude for the daily miracles. They interacted with God so

0:53.6

consistently that they forgot to feel grateful for the daily miracles. They interacted with God so consistently that they forgot to feel grateful

0:56.2

for the interactions. So are we forgetting how miraculous it is to have scriptures? What a miracle it is

1:06.2

that we can access these ancient texts. What a miracle it is that we can approach the God of all the

universe in individual prayer? Here's what I found. When I remember what a miracle each of these

1:21.2

daily touch points is, I can't help but feel overwhelming gratitude. And when I feel that gratitude, I am more likely

1:30.9

to study my scriptures or say my prayers. Gratitude is a beautiful motivation to interact with the

1:37.8

divine each day. So the takeaway of the day in five words or less, gratitude for scriptures and prayer.
