Would you go with me, please, to 1 Corinthians chapter 12.

First Corinthians 12.

The Bible said in this 12th chapter, you know, a lot of people refer to this as the chapter on the gifts of the spirit.

And it does talk about the gifts of the spirit, but really most of it deals with the body of

Christ.

And that's not incompatible because the gifts and manifestations manifest through the body.

That's how they operate.

And he said in verse 13 for by one spirit are we all baptized into one body

whether we be jews or gentiles whether we be bond or free have been all made to drink into one

spirit for the body's not one member but many if foot shall say, because I'm not of the hand,

I'm not of the body, is it therefore not of the body? No, it's still part of the body. If the ear

would say, because I am not the eye, I'm not of the body. Is it therefore not of the body?

If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing?

If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

But now has God set the members every one of them in the body as it has pleased him.

So that is describing us.

Every one of us is a member in the great body of Christ.

He is the head of the body, and we're the body. And we're not all the same member.

We're different members, aren't we? And why would he go on talking about a ear saying, well,

I'm not the I, so I'm not really a part. He referred to that more than once that idea.

Well, obviously, there's a big problem of people looking at other body parts and wanting

to be that and not magnifying the part that they are and not being thankful and developing
