On October 29, 2022, police responded to a home on Jaguar Drive in Santa Fe and found 21-year-old Grace Jennings dead inside a detached garage.

She had been killed with a sword.

How are you?

I'm doing pretty good this week. How are you? I'm doing good, getting over a cold, but feeling much, much better. Yeah, how about you? It's been a really great week, actually. Yeah, well, I mean, not for like me personally, but I have like some great news to share with you, Melissa and with everybody listening. I think I've mentioned a few times that my oldest son who is 16 and a half, really, which is crazy to believe. He's been looking for a job. He's been wanting to get a job and make his own money for a long time now. He's very driven and motivated to make his own money, which I love that for him. Right. I love to see that.

But he's applied several places, and I think we've talked on the show before about how actually

hard it is for kids to even find a job these days. Yeah, it just doesn't seem like there are really

that many opportunities, not really a lot of openings available, especially even at the

typical places that a 16-year-old would look for a job. It's been really hard for him. He's put in

lots of applications and nothing has really panned out. Well, a couple of weeks back, maybe three

weeks ago now, he was online and he saw something, I think, on Instagram or something about

one of our local springs looking for their

hiring lifeguards for the summer. Well, my child has no formal swim training whatsoever.

Sure. He has never in his life swam like a timed lap. Not once. But he was bound and determined

that he could do this. He was like, no, I'm going to find out what the requirements are and I'm just going to apply or whatever. Well, he did. And he has been going to the gym and practicing in the gym pool, doing the swims and making sure he can complete like these tasks. And he this week went in to do a swim test, which is the next part of the thing, and he passed it. And so he's

advancing on. He starts lifeguard training in a couple of weeks, and he's going to be lifeguarding

this summer, which is like the craziest, coolest thing. Yeah, I'm so proud of him. That's perfect for him.
