Good morning! It's three minutes after ten. How are you? I hope you had a splendid weekend. I've got some quite serious news for you. I seem to be developing an enthusiasm for gardening. So you can expect horticultural updates, I imagine, as the year progresses. I thought I'd warn you in advance, because not that long ago, if you'd warned me that you'd developed an enthusiasm for gardening and that I could expect horticultural

updates from you on a relatively regular basis, I would have run in the opposite direction

at about 100 miles an hour. But my goodness, me, what an undiscovered kingdom of joy

gardening can be. So do stay tuned for that. Maybe we could do a podcast. We could do a podcast, a gardening podcast. That'd be nice. Still see Tchmarsh occasionally in the old corridor, get Alan involved. This could be great. Obviously, I still say this with a sense of irony, thinking that I'm a frisky young buck, and isn't it ironic that I'm developing an enthusiasm for gardening? But of course I'm not. I'm increasingly

aware of the fact that I have now become that thing. Remember the old bow tie principle? I told

you about this a while ago, the principle of the bow tie. I don't want to do a disservice to

everybody who wears a bow tie, but I suspect most of you are probably going to be a little bit

offended. People start wearing bow ties ironically, sometimes even

in their 20s or 30s. So you wear a bowtie, and because you're young, it's quite ironic. It's a bit

like having a pocket watch or even perhaps a monicle. Unless you're a complete Herbert, it is ironic. You're

sort of enjoying the eccentricity of it, the fact that nobody else does it.

But then 20 years later, you're just another pompous who wears a bow tie. The irony has

disappeared. So there's nothing ironic about me deciding or discovering that I quite like gardening.

I'm just another aging man who now spends more time on his knees by the flower bed than he does in the nightclubs.

I just felt the need to get that off my chest. I don't know why. Interesting that Christian

Erickson popped up in the news there. You'll remember that he collapsed due to a cardiac arrest at the European

championships and he was taken up. You may not know, by the so-called anti-vax crowd,

as an example of someone who'd had a negative reaction to the vaccine, to the coronavirus vaccine.

He hadn't had an injection at all, I don't believe. He hadn't even been vaccinated. But of course,

it doesn't stop these attention-seeking loon buckets from co-opting his potentially tragic, his horrible

experience, to somehow inflate their own balloons of nonsense. I just picked up on that, on the

headline there, because we were planning to talk about the NHS story, which is on the headline there
