The world's biggest game developers conference opens this morning

in San Francisco, and tomorrow, Google is scheduled to make a big announcement there, its vision

for the future of gaming. Observers have largely been left in the dark as to what Google's

vision will look like, but rumors abound that the company will release a new product that allows

gamers to stream high-quality

games to any device. Streaming games is not the easiest of tasks. Games take exponentially more

resources than regular videos do, but it doesn't take a Fortnite expert to imagine how many more

people would play games if they could do it on a web browser as opposed to say an Xbox or PlayStation.

Stream games would theoretically live in the cloud and cost less to play, making them significantly more convenient.

Google's been testing ways to stream games for some time, but last year, those efforts took on more weight.
