Google making a rare change to its home page, the most visited website in the world,

pushing its AI mode tool directly into the hands of its billions of users.

Hey, Wolf. So here it is that AI mode right on the homepage doodle. It is highlighted by a kind of

rainbow aura, all the more intriguing to users who

may not even know what generative AI is. That's AI mode. It leads directly to a chatbot,

and ultimately this may prove more consequential than the Zuckerberg-Altman spat that is about

chasing benchmarks and superintelligence, a milestone that no one can define, no one can agree on,

and no one even knows how to measure. Google's doing something different. With this latest move,

it is changing what billions of people see when they open their browsers, still the on-ramp

for the entire internet. It says Google is willing to disrupt search and do it at a scale that

open AI cannot touch and with the clarity of product that Meta seems to have

traded for headcount and hype. And yet, investors, they're still treating Google like it's on defense.

The stock continues to trade at a discount to peers despite leading on infrastructure, model

cost, and increasingly consumer reach. Wall Street is pricing in the risk to search, but not

the upside if Google actually

pulls this off. And there are signs that Google's AI is gaining ground. According to similar

web data, chat GPT still dominates web traffic with nearly five and a half billion visits in

May to Google's Gemini's half a billion in the same month. But in terms of growth, Gemini increased

its visits by nearly 30% to Jet GPTs

7. And if you add in now new users going to AI mode, that kind of growth could just explode.
