Summary

This is the final podcast of the year 2020. I will be taking time to replenish, rest, and rejuvenate myself for the upcoming year.

In this solo episode, I reflect on the past year. The global pandemic has impacted everyone in the world in countless ways and I send my thoughts and prayers to everyone who is suffering from the effects of COVID-19. While it seems 2020 was unforgiving, we can’t ignore the good things that happened throughout the year. From social justice movements, finding creative ways to connect with our families, and a vaccine on the horizon, it hasn’t been all bad.

Tune in to learn my takeaways from 2020 and my hopes from 2021. Happy New Year!

In This Episode You Will Learn

  • My reflection on the past year (1:58)
  • The good things that have happened in 2020 (5:41)
  • The importance of recognizing the dedicated medical professionals (10:49)

1:23.0

off the last two weeks of the year and the first week of the new year in order to both replenish

1:31.5

ourselves, to give ourselves both me and you a break from the podcasts and to focus on

1:40.3

celebrating the holidays in your favorite tradition. As you know, most of these podcasts

1:49.3

feature interesting guests who lead their lives enthusiastically and can help us in doing

1:56.0

the same thing from their own perspectives. Because this is kind of a special podcast,

I thought that I would fly solo today and go over a few things that can be helpful as

2:09.5

we wrap up the old year, look forward to the new year. First of all, 2020 has been a year

2:18.3

that is unlike any that any of us have experienced in the past. It's been very unique and not necessarily

2:27.4

in a good way. We've had to deal with a global pandemic that has resulted in too many lives

2:37.5

lost, too many lives shattered by illness and by the impact of the illness. For example,

2:47.6

the economies of so many countries have gone really south and not been able to recover

2:56.1

for many, many people. So the fact is that especially now with the second surge of COVID-19

3:03.8

cases, all of us probably know somebody who has been affected by the disease, some of

3:13.0

us may know people who have died from it and probably all of us know people whose careers
