When you'd and your spouse got married you might have been dreaming about the day

you'd hold one of your children in your arms and now as the demands of parenting

increase you're finding yourselves kind of separate in life.

I'm John Fuller with Dr. Danny Werta, who heads up our parenting department,

and Danny, dreams of kids and what it looks like.

Did you and Heather have some of those expectations is an

interesting one we laugh about this when we were engaged I said yeah I want

ten kids I would love to have ten kids kind Kind of a traditional homeschool family, right?

And then, uh, and she wanted zero.

And so we say, I think we're going to have to kind of wrestle this down.

There's a big difference there. Before we get married. And so as we talk through that, she

goes, can we start with two? And then kind of go from there. I think I can handle a couple.

I said, well, that's burned zero because I do want kids, love kids.

So we start off with two, man I was exhausted, I was tired, definitely not what I was expecting

off the start, diapers exploding, all kinds of, of you know kids sick at night I

said yeah this is this is a tough deal and as we were considering having four

five six kids my wife said I think to two is what I can I can do and I had to listen

Listen to that but what I've noticed is that it was better than I expected John oh I've loved being a dad

It has transformed me. It has changed me, it has solidified my perspective

on what it's like to have a Heavenly Father and what he feels towards me as his child. And man, it's been rich, it's been hard at times and it's been tiring at times.

The so is a lot of what we encounter in life.

And in this one, there's a transformation.
