| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Feminine podcast. This is Nancy Wilson. Thanks so much for joining me today. |
| 0:11.8 | Today I thought I would cover the topic of good manners and courtesy. And I hope both moms and daughters, even some of the really young ones, |
| 0:22.5 | will appreciate this topic. It's still important today in this very casual culture of ours. |
| 0:29.8 | In fact, I think it's even more important because we want to keep good manners from completely eroding |
| 0:36.5 | away. And not because some fussers want to maintain a |
| 0:40.3 | polite society, but because courtesy is a Christian virtue. And we're Christians. So we're just |
| 0:46.6 | applying God's principles in how we treat one another. Courtesy is simply showing consideration for other people. It's putting other |
| 0:56.7 | people first. Philippians 2.4 says let each of you look out not only for his own interests, |
| 1:04.6 | but also for the interests of others. And that's just such a good guiding principles. And there's so many applications to this, |

| 1:26.6 | there are many weekly applications of exercising courtesy, |
| 1:30.5 | and of course, the most important one every week is worship. So I thought, well, why not just |
| 1:35.9 | mention a few things about courtesy when we gather to worship? And then we'll spread it out and |
| 1:42.0 | apply it to all the lesser events. First of all, remember, |
| 1:47.9 | someone and probably quite a number of people have prepared for you. And though worship is not the |
| 1:54.9 | same as going to a home for dinner, we are gathering in God's house and he is feeding us. |
| 2:06.8 | And this means that worship is where courtesy and manners are really of the utmost importance. |
| 2:14.0 | And it's a big family, I understand, but it means courtesy going in all directions. |
| 2:16.7 | So here's just a few considerations. |
| 2:35.8 | First, I think it's just preparation. It's just good to be like heads up. Tomorrow's worship. What do I need to do to get myself ready and out the door? Oh man, depending on the stage you're in, sometimes I was do a lot of prep for breakfast before I went to bed and get everybody's clothes ready. So all they had to do was get themselves ready and not run around trying to find |
| 2:42.8 | shoes. Different stages. Obviously, they were pretty little when I was doing that. But we do want to |
