The topic today is doing good. Now, I think we all know that Christian women are to give themselves to doing good works.

But how can we know if we're doing too

much good or not enough good? There's so much in the scriptures about good works. Romans 2

6 and 7 were it saying God will render to each one according to his deeds, eternal life to those who by patient continuance

in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality. Patient continuance. I was thinking about my

husband because when we lived with his dad, his dad had a button by his bed. He could push if he needed

help in the night. And there were seasons when my husband would get called two or three times a night.

And that is what patient continuance looks like to me. Galatian 6.9 says, let us not grow weary while doing good. For in due season, we shall reap

if we do not lose heart. Not all the good works we're called to are thrilling or glamorous. Are they?

No, really. So let's not lose heart and grow weary, but keep at it. There will be a harvest

someday. In 2nd, Thessalonians 313, but as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good.

Here it is again. We would not be exhorted to not grow weary if there was no chance of that happening. Doing good can be

exhausting both mentally and physically, so don't grow sick of it. Verse Peter 419. Therefore let those

who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to him in doing good as to a faithful creator.

Now this one, I think this verse anyway, is for those who might be in jail for the gospel.

They are suffering.

Or it could apply to those who are suffering with loneliness or with cancer or other illnesses or difficulties.

Commit your soul to God in doing good. He is faithful.

It is a way of changing the subject, away from the suffering, to an outward view of doing good,

knowing God is faithful. Now, it is obvious that the Christian life should be characterized by good

works or doing good.
