Summary

We’ve all heard the scary ghost stories—but what about the good ones? Today I’m sharing your stories of “good ghosts”: ancestors offering advice from the other side, an apparition stepping in after an accident, and even a friendly Scottish highlander checking in on his old home. This episode turned out surprisingly heartwarming—and yes, I cried my eyes out. You’ve been warned. Join the Girlscamp: After Dark Patreon account here for two bonus episodes per month and more. G-I-R-L-S-C-A-M-P it's Girls' Camp.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Girls' Camp podcast. I'm your host, Haley Rawl. I have found myself already in the Halloween season.

0:20.0

It came up quick, but I'm very happy to be here.

I love Halloween. I love fall. I love a pumpkin patch. I love a fall treat. I love, to an extent,

0:30.6

a ghost story, a scary story. But I felt like a good way to soft launch into the season was doing a prompt about good ghosts.

0:41.0

I've done ghost stories on the podcast before, and I feel like there's always one or two that end up being very heartwarming, that end up being like a helpful, friendly ghost of some sort.

So I decided to do an episode dedicated to good ghosts and good

0:57.3

paranormal experiences alone. So if you are the scared sort that has to avoid scary stories,

1:04.2

which I can understand, I'm actually debating even doing scary stories this month. But I don't know, I probably will. I love being able to have

1:13.3

like the religious take on scary stories specifically. So I probably still will, but I'm trying to

1:19.8

keep things as lighthearted and uplifting as possible right now. Part of the reason I had this

1:26.4

idea is because I've been meaning to tell you all

1:28.7

about this really small thing that has happened since my dad died. And it is a very small thing,

1:34.8

and I'm sure there's lots of explanations for it, but it means something to me. I swear this didn't

1:40.5

happen before he died, but I realized pretty soon after he died, my place for

1:47.4

processing grief and really thinking about him ended up being time and time again while I was

1:53.9

driving in my car. It was just a time where it was either quiet or oftentimes I would listen to a

1:59.4

playlist I made of some of his favorite music.

2:01.6

That was a way that we connected with each other was through music. And it was kind of the only time

2:06.7

that I was like really sitting and thinking. So I would often be thinking about my dad.

2:12.5

And soon after he died, there was this one day where I was driving alone. Nobody was in the passenger

2:19.4

seat. And the car started dinging at me, like the light that says, like, put on your seatbelt
