You've been sitting great to jump. Welcome to the Ralph Nader Radio Hour. I'm Steve Scrovan along with David Feldman and Ralph Nader.

Gentlemen, we're going to open today with a subject, Ralph, that you have

made reference to in previous episodes, I think every episode you've made reference to, and

that's the proliferation of trivial apps.

What are some of these trivial apps and what's the problem with them?

First of a little background.

The internet, potentially, was a very revolutionary media. I mean never in world history could anybody

contact anybody else or contact a lot of people essentially free without any kind of filter.

And let's remember, it was the Pentagon research that led to the creation of the

Internet, the powers that be had to find ways to make sure that it wasn't a revolutionary communication and mobilizing systems.

Who are these powers that be, Ralph?

Excuse me. First of all, the companies that want to control it

and get rid of net neutrality

so they stratify the costs

where the big guys get it cheaper than ordinary people.

So it's the telephone companies, the cable, generally any

corporation that is afraid of people mobilizing and part of it is

it is extricual and part of it is just planning, you know, strategic planning.

That's what corporations do.
