Summary

Leader of The Social Democratic Party William Clouston kicks off today's show by delving into the morning's headlines as NatWest chief executive Dame Alison Rose has stepped down after admitting that she leaked private banking information about Nigel Farage to the BBC. Executive Director for Migration Watch UK Dr Mike Jones joins shortly after to discuss how on Earth lawyers are charging thousands of pounds to submit false asylum and human rights claims for illegal immigrants. Staff at solicitors’ firms readily agreed to help an undercover Mail reporter posing as an economic migrant get refugee status. Head of Crime and Justice, Policy Exchange David Spencer returns to The Independent Republic to discuss the latest decision by police to free up 1m hours a year by ending mental health callouts as the responsibility for attending to people experiencing a mental health crisis will instead be passed back to health services and police will be sent only if there is a crime or threat to safety. Deputy Comment Editor of the Telegraph Annabel Denham returns for her weekly segment taking down the top headlines from clown world and Conservative MP Jonathan Gulllis closes the show to discuss further how lawyers are charging thousands of pounds to submit false asylum and human rights claims for illegal immigrants. All that and so much more, so tune in!

Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republican Mike Graham right here on Talk TV. We have

0:05.5

got what to show for you today because lots and lots of things have been going on overnight,

0:10.1

believe it or not, Nat West finally saw sense after yesterday's ludicrous admission by Dame Netflix,

0:16.8

or Dame Nat West, as I call her, the woman who will soon be probably the scourge of the entire banking industry in the world,

0:23.9

is now being blamed for possibly ruining the reputation not only of one of the world's biggest banks in the centre of London,

0:29.3

but also the city of London itself, because of course Alison Rose is responsible for leaking a story to the BBC,

0:35.7

which was then reported dutifully by the BBC,

0:38.5

but it was wrong. And it was as a result of a leak of information, which was in fact not only

0:43.6

a breach of confidentiality, but may in fact have been entirely illegal. And it could end up

0:48.7

being that this woman, who is the chief of NatWest and has only ever worked at NatWest in her

0:54.0

entire life,

0:55.1

could be actually looking at criminal charges.

0:58.1

Because according to Bob Seeley, the Tory MP, who was on first edition last night,

1:02.4

she may be in breach of some EU rules which say that you cannot discriminate against anybody

1:06.9

from any point of view, particularly a political one in any single banking situation.

1:12.6

Dame Allison spoke to the BBC's businessman, business editor Simon Jack, at a dinner that the BBC was holding.

1:20.6

She told him that Nigel Farage had lost his account as a result of not having enough funds in it.

1:25.6

And of course, the BBC leafly reported that as if it was true.

1:29.3

To be fair to the BBC, they did apparently go back to Nat West

1:32.3

to double check that the source and the information was correct.

1:35.3

They said it was.

1:36.3

So the problem for me now is what happens next at Nat West?
