Futurizno. Before we get into the meat of what ready to kick off our third season of of Futurismo.

Before we get into the meat of what we'll be talking about this season,

I wonder to take a second and look back at how far we've come.

One thing that's nice about business reporting is that it's really easy to quantifiably,

monetarily determine how important something is.

For instance, you know typically you'll hear a number that the global automotive industry is a $3 trillion

industry today.

If you look at some of the projections for what personal mobility and a shared use economy

will be, you're looking at numbers like $10 trillion.

This is Glenn Stevens.

And I'm the executive director of Michaudo and also serve as the Vice President of Automotive

and Mobility Initiatives at the Detroit Regional Chamber.

Yeah, over the course of my career, and I've been in the auto industry, you know, my whole career and around it. I've seen this

transformation firsthand but nothing like the acceleration of it that we've seen in the

last few years. Glenn is an ambassador for the traditional auto industry here in Detroit.

He told me that he started seeing the signs of change pretty early on in headlines and press

from business publications just like ours.

And one of them was in July of 2014

when the cover of the Wall Street Journal

had a headline, The Future of the Cars in Silicon Valley.
