And I'll tell you why.

Because I believe that we, more than any other generation, is void of a revelation of what happened at the cross.

I believe that we are paralyzed, theologically, for the most part, in the American charismatic movement.

I don't believe there's ever been a people that have served Jesus that are weaker in theology than the modern church.

I believe that to be, I believe my travel bears that out. They had, they had doctrine in their

songs. We have filler. And so they had an understanding of what it meant when they sang about

the blood. And they had an understanding of what it meant when they sang about the blood.

And they had an understanding of what it meant when they sang about the cross.

And they had an understanding of things like atonement and perpetuation and sanctification.

And I want to begin to teach on some of those things to really get us to have a base of which to launch from.

I think theology, when it begins to go into

intellectualism, becomes a waste of time. But I think theology for the sake of truly understanding

the nature and attributes of God is absolutely a necessary foundation for us to properly build

what God has intended for us to build as a people.

And Colossians, more than any other book I've ever come across in study, teaches us the value

of what Christ paid for in death. I'm just going to read something that I thought was interesting

today in my study. If you look through Colossians, I'm going to read you the highlighted

black headings

above every section of content within Colossians. The first one says their faith in Christ.

The second one says preeminence of Christ. The third one says reconciled in Christ. The fourth

one says not philosophy but Christ. The fourth one says, not philosophy but Christ.

The fifth one says not legalism but Christ.
