So we're going to be in Psalm 139. Can everyone go to verse 7?

And I've entitled my teaching tonight. It's going to be, we're going to take a break in First Samuel.

That is where Pastor Gary is right now. And we're going to just highlight and look over

the Holy Spirit as the third person in the Trinity. So we're going to look at God,

the Holy Spirit for tonight,

and have kind of an overview of who he is as a person and in his ministry.

So verse 7 of Psalm 139, David would write this,

where can I go from your spirit?

Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there. If I make my bed in the depths,

you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, and if I settle on the far side of the sea,

even there your hand will guide me. Your right hand will hold me fast. Amazing verse that David would write in Penn.

I remember singing that song in youth group when I was in high school.

I don't remember who sang it, but a lot of renditions I was looking on Spotify on different

people that have sung this Psalm.

But there's one song in particular that comes to my mind. I'm not going to sing it, but

it was a precious song. I'm not sure if it was Amy Grant. I don't remember, to be honest. I'm

going to have to look it up. But it's such, whenever I read that psalm, and psalms are songs.

So when you read them and songs that have been made out of the Psalms, you're always thinking of that

tune, that melody.

And I love this passage that we're going to be in on the spirit of the Lord and that we cannot run from God's spirit.

He is going to constantly pursue you and I because he wants a relationship with us.
