If you would look in 3rd John this morning, the verses that we've looked at previously,

we've been on a series for some weeks now called God's will is success.

God's will is success.

You know, you just say that and some people think they don't like it.

But is his will failure?

Which one is his will?

Success?

Or failure?

Well, there seems to be some indecision on the matter, which is, well, I'm glad we're going to preach on it today.

We're make some progress.

In third John, the second verse, he said, Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

The Young's literal translation says,

Beloved, concerning all things, I desire you to prosper

and to be in health even as your soul does prosper.

Can we take this as God speaking to us, the Word of God?

Well, then does he desire, above all things, that we prosper?

Now, we know the first prosper here is not referring to spiritual prosperity, because he refers to that in just a moment.

He's talking about external material,

prosperity, and that you be in health.

That's not talking about spiritual health. That's talking about physical

health. Even as your soul. There's the inner man.

Soul prospers.
