Acts Chapter 5 is a warning to hypocrites everywhere, but especially in the church.

Now if you're a big pretender, a hypocrite, I want you to pay attention because this message has your name on it.

And when I say hypocrite, I don't mean necessarily an unsaved hypocrite.

You know we have a lot of saved hypocrites. People who are

saved but there is in their life duplicity and pretense and folks they are living dangerously.

revival. However, the devil crafted a new attack from within the church through Ananius and Safira. After seeing another church

member receive praise for selling his property and giving everything to the

Church, Ananius and his wife Safira lied about their own offering to receive the same praise.

What happens next is a grave warning to us to see the seriousness of hypocrisy.

If you have your Bible, we'll begin in Acts chapter 4, look at verse 36,

as Adrian Rogers shares God's warning to pretenders.

Today we come to a very interesting passage.

Literally we're going to be, or most of the time we're going to be in Acts Chapter 5, but we need

to get a running start.

So we're going to go to Acts Chapter 4 and read the last two verses of acts chapter four and then about the first

11 verses of acts chapter five and the title of our message today is God's

warning to big pretenders.
