it. Okay, today we are looking at John 7 verses 1 through 9. It says, After this Jesus went

about angallily. He would not go about in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill him.

Now the Jews' feast of booths was at hand, so his brothers said to him, Leave here and

go to Judea. That your disciples also may see the works you are doing. For no one works

in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the

world. For not even his brothers believed in him. Jesus said to them, My time has not yet

come, but your time is always here. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I

testify about it that its works are evil. You go up to the feast. I am not going up to

this feast for my time has not yet fully come. After saying this, he remained angallily.

Now there are some geographical things here that we need to keep in mind to understand what's

going on. Jesus is in the region of Galilee, which is to the north, and that's where

his home town was from. That's probably why this account of him talking with his actual

brothers is recounted for us because they would have been living in that region. But this

feast is about to happen down in the area. Judea, which is to the south, that's where

Jerusalem is, and they are encouraging him, Hey, if you're all that, if you are going

to be starting some big campaign to become the ruler, you need to go down to Judea.

So everybody can see you. So you gain the sympathies of the people. You see, that's really
