Let's pray together.

Father, before we're done with this life, I don't doubt that a good number of the folks in this room will wear chains.

And so I pray that you would sober us now and draw us close to you.

I pray that the water and the cookies and the chips wouldn't be delusional.

I pray that that little foretaste of heaven would make us willing to live on the earth without, like Paul did.

What a testimony, Philippians 1 is.

What a spectacular testimony.

You taught him a contentment in prison and out of prison that I have just tasted.

We hear what more of it.

We want to know how to be the kind of people that in the worst possible job

or the worst possible joblessness, you are plenty.

You are sufficient.

And that our joy is not contingent upon our circumstance.

So come get at us, get through us, get down deep into us, I pray, and teach us these things.

Make us experience yourself in this way.

I pray in Jesus' name.

Amen.

I cannot overstate the preciousness of memorizing scripture.
