Hey there, my friends. Good to be back with you for the morning mindset. My name is Carrie Green. I'm a pastor and Bible teacher, and I'm here to help you get your mind aligned with the truth of God's word for this day. Today we'll be reading the first epistle of Peter chapter one verse number two. So get

out your Bibles. We'll be digging into that in just a moment. Before we do though, I want to encourage

you tell someone about the morning mindset. If you are benefiting, if you're growing in your faith,

because of this daily mindset reset, please share it with someone else. You could make

an eternal difference in the life of someone else. Well, before we dig into 1st Peter chapter 1,

I want to ask you to pray with me that we will be led and guided by God's spirit as we seek to

understand His Word today. So Father, that is exactly what we ask you to do in us through the power

of your Holy Spirit. Teach us how to read your word, how to understand it, how to be guided by it in our

actual thinking, our feeling, and in our activity, Lord. Show us how to be disciples of Jesus through

what we learn. It's in His name we pray. Amen.

Okay, friends, as you're getting out your Bibles and turning to 1st Peter chapter 1, I want to remind

you that what we read each day is not just for the sake of knowing more. It's not just for the sake of

having data in our minds. It is for us to

understand in a way we can apply in life. And as we read the first two verses of First Peter here

to get us into the context, we're going to read a lot of verbiage. We're going to read a lot of

doctrine, heavy, important, eternal truths.

But we need to always take those and try to make them as practical as we can.

So today, as we talk about God's gifts of grace and peace, let's just set our minds to learn how this applies to our lives today in very practical ways.

It begins in verse number one, Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who are elect exiles of the

dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bethinia, according to the foreknowledge

of God, the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit,

for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with His blood,
