Hello, this is Scott and Maureen Proctor with Meridian Magazine's Come Follow Me podcast,

where today we'll be studying the fascinating chapters of Exodus 1 through 6 in a lesson entitled

God remembers His covenants to a thousandations. Just saying that makes me so happy

and so secure. We thought it would be wonderful this week to invite a guest to join the discussion,

a dear friend of ours and one that many of you will know and recognize. And that guest is Dr. Daniel Peterson, a dear friend and a professor emeritus of Islamic

studies and Arabic at Brigham Young University where he founded the university's Middle

East Texts Initiative.

He is the founder of the Interpreter Foundation and the producer with his wife, Deborah,

of several films including Witnesses, Six Days in August,

and a whole series of films called Becoming Brigham that are currently being released on Meridian Magazine

and many other affiliated faithful sites.

We love Dan's work, and we are excited to be with him

today and to explore these chapters together in Exodus. Now we'll put the links in our script

You probably matter ancient phrases and Arabic things at night.

I don't know if Deborah could avow to that, but it's certainly a part of your whole being,

isn't it?

It is. That's right. When you talk in your sleep,

is it in English? I don't know. Well, today we want to explore these scriptures, and we start

with such an interesting idea that now there was a pharaoh in Egypt who knew not Joseph. So can you give us some context

about this? How long has it been to any degree that we can figure it out since the days of Joseph?
