Summary

As we near the end of the series on God’s promises, today we’re going to look at the promise of his presence. The nearness of God is always to our good. In every situation, good or bad, challenging or easy, it’s so good to be near to God. So wherever you are today, lay down every other pursuit, just for the next few minutes, and focus simply on resting on God’s presence.

0:54.1	What an incredible image David paints of the nearness of God.
0:58.0	If we were to explore the ends of the earth, God would still be there.
1:03.0	If we were to dive to the depths of the ocean, God would still be there.
1:08.0	If we descend into the darkest places of our inner being, we will still find God.
1:14.2	There's no place we can go that he isn't present. God's presence floods the earth like the early
1:20.6	morning fog, saturating everything with its haze. His presence is his promise. So what do we do with the knowledge of God's nearness?
1:31.0	What does it mean for us? In Deuteronomy 31, 6, we're told, He will never leave you nor forsake you.
1:39.4	And in Psalm 23, 4, David exemplifies this command and saying, even though I walk through the valley of a shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.
1:50.3	Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
1:53.3	Psalm 461 says it this way.
1:55.8	God is a refuge and strength, a very present help and trouble.
2:03.3	God's nearness is meant to be our source of courage and strength. We are to find refuge in the knowledge and experience of his presence.
2:09.9	His presence means everything for us. It means we're not alone anymore. It means he will
