Summary

In today’s devotional, we’re continuing our series focusing on God’s promises by looking at his promise of comfort. We serve a God of all mercy and comfort, a God who knows our pain, weeps with us, and has a perfect plan to lead us to abundant life even in the midst of it all. Let’s come to God today open-hearted, ready and willing to receive his comfort, that we might be nearer to him as the result of our time together.

0:45.6	2 Corinthians 1-3 tells us of a wonderful aspect of God's character, that he is the father of mercies and God of all comfort. In a world wrought with depression and hurt,

0:56.5	of compassion and love. Let's allow the truth of God's comfort to fill us today. Let's rest in
1:03.1	the goodness of God's presence and let him minister to any areas in which we feel hurt or depressed.

1:14.9	brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34 comes in the context of David fleeing
1:21.8	from Saul's persecution. David in this season of life knew all too well what is like to need comfort.
1:29.2	His circumstances were anything but peaceful.
1:32.2	But in this moment, God faithfully delivered him again from the hands of Saul.
1:38.0	David writes, this poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him of all his troubles.
1:45.0	The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him and delivers them.
1:50.0	O taste and see that the Lord is good,
1:53.0	Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
1:56.0	O fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack. The young lions suffer
2:03.5	want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. David took refuge in his
2:10.5	faithful God and found comfort. He placed his trust in the father of all comfort and found deliverance.
2:18.2	It is really true, those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
