Before we dig into Romans 11, let's ask God to teach us His word today.

Lord God, it is amazing to be to think that you have given us your word and that you've done so through the written

word. It's on paper so we don't have to guess at what you said. Lord, teach us, teach us by your

Holy Spirit how to understand the words on the page today. We ask in Jesus' name. Amen. Okay, Romans 11, 34 through 36, the Apostle Paul has just

kind of exploded into this refrain of praise as he's recognized that God's eternal plan for both

Jewish people and non-Jewish people is brought together in the person of Jesus. And we read this yesterday. We're going to

read it again and do a little bit of a shift of focus as we look at it today. He says, for who has

known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor, or who has given a gift to him that he might

be repaid?

For from him and through him and to him are all things.

To him be glory forever.

Amen.

So Paul is kind of astounded, it seems, here at the end of his explanation of how God has brought Jew and Gentile together through belief in the Messiah. And he just is marveling at how God

didn't need anyone to counsel him about this and explain to him the way to make it work. God
