Hi, this is Heidi St. John. Today I'm going to do something a little bit different than

I normally do, and I'm going to take our morning devotion from firmly planted family

study guide. This is from the books of Moses, Part 2, which covers Genesis 37 to Numbers 14.

We were reading this recently with our children, and it just impacted me, and I wanted to

share it with you. The point of this story in reading this particular scripture is to instill

into your children that even though people might mean something for evil, God can use it

for good. And Genesis 50, 20 says, as for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant

it for good. This week's story is an important one. And if you wanted to, I'm not going to

take the time to do it because it's a long passage today, but it's Genesis, chapters 42

through 47. And it's the story of Joseph and his brothers as they go to Egypt. Remember,

Joseph was sold into slavery, and now his brothers are going to go to Egypt for food

because they are experiencing a famine in the land. So this week's story picks it up there,

and you might want to get your kids today if you want to play this back on a podcast and snuggle
