You know we've been talking about how the microphone amplifies sound and some things being amplified in your mind and in your thoughts today.

And whatever that voice is or whoever those voices are impacting the way that you think and the way that you feel and the way that you act.

Therefore we have to take stock of who's on the mic.

And that's why we've been looking at some of the voices that find their way there like the voice of fear for a lot of us is hogging the mic.

We talked about how comparisons on the mic, how people's opinions are on the mic, how religion is on the mic.

But if we want to get those things off the mic, ultimately we have to make sure we've got the voice of God on the mic.

And so today we're asking the question, does God still speak and can I hear His voice?

Because it's not going to matter what messages we share about all these other voices that are on the mic unless you know how to get God on the mic.

And what I want to say in the affirmative today is God is definitely speaking.

And He definitely wants you to know His voice.

This is not like a hierarchy of people who are on stages or preach sermons or been to Bible college or have certain degrees or leaders at the church. God wants a relationship with everybody in this building.

And how can you have a relationship with somebody and not have a conversation with them and not be able to know their voice and hear their voice in your life.

So whoever you are in this place today, wherever you are in church today, the answer is in the affirmative. God is speaking and He wants to be speaking to you.

And so we've got to ask the question to how do I know God is speaking? How do I learn to hear God's voice?

How do I know God's voice? And how do I get God's voice on the microphone of my life?

And I'm assuming with the question today that we want to know God's voice. So maybe we should start by asking that today. Do you want to hear God's voice?

Do you want to know what He has to say about your stuff? Do you want to know what He has to say about your decisions, about your attitude, about the direction of your life, about the people that you're choosing to form relationships with, about who you're going to marry or who you're going to be in business with or what city you're going to live in or what kind of character you're going to have.

So I want to hear God's voice and all those things. And if you do, I guarantee you God is speaking today. And you can know His voice. So how can I hear the voice of God? How can I know the voice of God?

We're going to talk about five components today. They're all a part of this story. And we're going to begin today with the most important component, which is you have to plant yourself in the word of God if you want to hear the voice of God.
