Welcome back, my friends. It is time for the morning mindset. I hope you're ready to jump into

the scriptures as we endeavor to align our minds with the truth of God's word. I'm so excited because today we're

beginning a new study, a new verse by verse walk through. A very small

little book of the scripture, but a very powerful book of the scripture and that is

first Peter we're just going to dive right in here first Peter chapter one it

begins with Peter's greeting now remember this is a letter that Peter wrote to the people

who he was addressing and it's going to tell us something about him and something about the people

he's writing to. First Peter, chapter one says Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ. It was common

in that day for them to begin a letter by saying, hey, this letter is from Peter. That's essentially

what he's doing. And he's telling something about who he is.

He's an apostle of Jesus Christ,

which means he's one of those people

who saw Jesus alive before his crucifixion

and who was personally called to be a disciple of Jesus.

That's what an apostle is and the apostles were the leaders of the baby churches it began getting started.

And it says to those who are elect exiles of the dispersion

in Pontus Galatia, Capidocia, Asia, and Bethania.

Now that is the people he's writing too.

Now let's talk a little bit about that.

They are, in Peter's words, elect exiles of the dispersion. Now the dispersion
