I remember when I first got saved, I focused on these smaller details and missed the bigger details of my walk with God.

Like, for example, I would be like, okay, I'm not going to say these words anymore.

I'm not going to smoke. I'm not going to drink. I'm not going to chew. I'm not going to hang with those who do.

And at the same time, I had a lot of pride, a lot of lust going on in my heart. And those just kind of went unnoticed as I was focusing on these smaller details.

That's what Jesus would say would be called straining the gnats, swallowing the goats.

And the goats, sorry, swallowing the camels.

But in this illustration, he, yeah, talks about this gnaut straining camel gorging in the sense that

the religious leaders, they were taught not to eat gnats, little flies, not to eat camels.

And we'll get into why.

But what they were doing is they were following these small details in the law, but then bigger details of the law,

or at least the attributes of God that the law pointed them to, they were completely missing

those. And so Jesus said, it's like you're straining out these gnats out of your wine,

which is what they would have done, to not eat the gnats, but at the you're, you're straining out these gnats out of your wine, which is what they

would have done, to not eat the gnats. But at the same time, you're in a swallowing a camel hole.

Like, you're missing the big problems by focusing on these little problems. And so as Christians,

we can do this all the time. You know, we saw it go on in COVID. Everyone was like, well, you know, we should be able to go

to church unmasked and we shouldn't put these vaccines in our children. And that's so unhealthy

for them. We don't know what's in these things. In the meantime, these same people who are saying that

are also very greedy or very prideful or very prejudice. And so we have to be careful that. We don't miss the weightier matters of the law.
