Guys, we have such an awesome way to start this show. We have been gifted a very

distinct honor here on Good Morning Football to announce the 25 modern era players named as

semifinalists for Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2025.

Now, of course, this list you're about to see includes candidates.

In fact, 17 players who were semifinalists for last year's class, the class of 2024.

But before we reveal the eight new names, we remind you of the players who were on last year's list.

Of course, anyone from Eric and Jared Allen, Antonio

Gates, James Harrison, Peter Kyle, you got a name that jumps out to you that has bounced back?

All of these guys have been on the top 25 list in previous years, including Steve Smith,

senior, a colleague of ours, who has now been at the altar several times. He's making it as a semi-finalist again. This list will get winnowed down to 15, and then they will ultimately pick four to eight of these guys, and we have a couple others that are going to be added. Tons of names jump out. These are our heroes, some of them we grew up with. I always looked at Antonio Gates as a first ballot guy, but we're going to announce some names, and then of course we're going to

embrace debate. And of course, our colleague, Kurt Warner, would have to go to bat for Tori

Holt on that list as well. Now, there are six modern era players who are making the cut

on their first year of eligibility. They all played their

last games in 2019. However, there are also two others that are making their first appearance,

but they stopped playing much earlier in their career. So we start with the six first time

eligible. Peter, please do the honors. All right. this is cool. This quarterback played 16 NFL seasons.

He passed for 366 touchdowns in over 57,000 yards.

He was a Walter Payton man of the year in 2016.

He's also a two-time Super Bowl champion who has beaten Tom Brady twice in the big game.
