Let's talk quarterbacks, injuries, changes, what have you, where you take us?

Well, before you guys get to the Atlanta situation, which is just a seismic shift for the Falcons, we'll get to one quick but very important one.

Patrick Mahomes dealing with a high ankle sprain, whose status, I would say,

is in question for Saturday's game for the Kansas and Chiefs. Number one seat is on the line.

They could lock it up. Potentially, Patrick Mahomes took a positive step yesterday toward potentially

playing. He was a full participant in practice. The fact that Mahomes can come out and be a full

participant in practice just a couple of days after getting a high ankle sprained speaks to how just crazy he is, how crazy his body is.

Gumbie is the joke that people say referring to his loose-limbed nature. Anyway, it's all good for him.

Full participant yesterday. We'll see if he's able to do that again today. And now the Atlanta Falcons situation. And you're right. It is a dramatic one for the Atlanta

Falcons. Kirk Cousins, where they paid $62 million this year on the hook for $27.5 million

next year, a quarterback they thought was going to take them deep into the playoffs. One is going

to be their starting quarterback at least for two years, has been benched.

Michael Pennix Jr., the first round draftic, one of the most highly debated first round draftics I can remember, has been named the starting quarterback.

This has been coming.

The fact that the last month and a half, Kirk Cousins play, his turnovers, his inability to move the ball,

his inability to push the ball downfield to really just be a functional quarterback.

It all made this situation impossible to ignore.

This is not what the Falcons wanted to do.
