Pretty much an hour ago.

You came on the show and discussed the decision that the New England Patriots made

to part ways with Bill Belichick.

We're going to hear from the team a little bit later on. What else can you tell us? Well, Jamie, Bill Belichick and the

Patriots are officially parting ways today. A noon Eastern time press conference has been scheduled

with Belichick and Robert Kraft. So how did we get here? Well, in the big picture, obviously,

in recent years, the results on the field have not been

up to the Patriot standards. Sixth time Super Bowl winning head coach and Bill Belichick this year

presided over a team that Robert Kraft made very clear in March. He wanted to see return to the playoffs.

Instead, they went 4 and 13. They benched their quarterback, Mac Jones.

It simply wasn't good enough on the field.

But there's a lot of different reasons why the results were not there for the New England Patriots.

Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft did not discuss the future during the season.

My understanding is they got together on Monday for hours and talked about everything that they see right now in the program, everything that they saw, as Belichick put it with reporters earlier on Monday, that needs to be fixed.

They discussed a variety of different scenarios, including trying to figure out a path forward together.

They simply were not able to get there. So the decision was made here
