Good morning football. Yeah, let's go. This is good morning football. Everybody, welcome inside. We're live in L.A. We're live in New York. It's Monday, February 24th, 2025. Kind of for us, the official start of the offseason. I'm Jamie Erdall. Here is Manside-T Teo. Peter Schrager in New York, as always. And guys, GMFB, it's Cody Kessler. Welcome to your family, Cody. What's going on? Peter Schrager, what are your memories of a Cody Kessler coming out, his time in the NFL? I like how you always set the table for us. And please do it with one of our new hosts. Well, I remember Cody Kessler as a high school player at a Bakersfield. He was the Gatorade player of the year, state of California with USC Troja. And Cody, tell me if I'm wrong. Third round pick of the Browns. And I want to say I was on the sidelines for one of your first NFL games. A really nice NFL career. We bounced around at the end, but totally

an L.A. product once you went to USC, and I know you're killing it in L.A. now doing a lot of stuff in the media, and we're excited to have you on Good Morning Football. Yeah, yeah, I appreciate it, Peter. I'll have been to know you got 20 bucks there for that. Yeah, no, I got drafted in Cleveland in the third round. It's been a couple years years there. Then went to Jacksonville, Philly, and then ended up in New England.

But, yeah, I've been doing broadcasting now and was going to get into coaching, kind of playing with both. And then talk to Mark Sanchez, a good friend of mine, and talk me into broadcasting. So here we are now, and I'm having a blast doing it. But I appreciate you guys having me on. USC quarterbacks and broadcasts.

It's a good mix.

It's always nice when I get to feel like a little veteran in my short time here on the show. It's welcome to the family. It's a big family thing and we're going to have some fun. Jamie, I want to say Cody and this is off the script. It's not in your Wikipedia page, not on Google, but I remember, weren't you also like a nasty high school basketball player? Yes, let's go. Talk about your high school B-ball career, because I remember that coming out of high school, it was like football and basketball. Yeah, this was my claim to athleticism in the locker room at USC. Okay, because I was a pro-style quarterback, right, but I could hoop a little bit on the side. And high school, freshman year, played varsity. Iverage 15. Sophomary went about 24. My junior year, we can check the tape. Peter, I appreciate it. Average 30 a game. As a point guard. So that's the only time I was hard. Yeah, I didn't pass a whole lot. You could tell. It was, it was. It was, kick a couple to the corner.

If they're not hitting them, then, all right, we're going to ISO the rest of the game.

2:37.1

But, yeah, that was my, because since I wasn't a dual threat, I couldn't really run.

2:39.7

I had the knee brace on in college. Sure. My high school basketball tape was my claim. So what happened? And like the money is like football is worth of money or whatever.

2:47.2

Like why not basketball?

2:48.4

Why not playing the NCAA tournament?

2:50.0

You know what?

2:50.4

I had to make that decision to Jamie.

2:51.9

And in my junior of high school,

it was.
