| 0:12.6 | I feel like immediately the first thing that pops into my head is shots, shots, shot, shot, shot, shots. |
| 0:17.8 | But I know that there is a shoddy song, and I would like to know more about it. Well, there's a lot of shoddies, actually. You know, there's a shoddy drink. There's different things that go on with that. It's kind of a fun thing to play with, but it fits very good with football, right? You know, do we take shots early in the game, you know, different things like that? So, you know, yeah, you like that. A whole little line there. But, yeah, my family and I have fun with it. You know, we have some hats made for the beach. It's kind of fun. Love that. Love that for you and the team. Yeah. Coach, I am excited for you and excited for your opportunity to obviously be the head, man. people always talk about, you know, the hiring. You've been around for 25 years in the league. 25 years, you've been under a lot of great leaders. And one of those leaders being your dad, right? And you have it has his own slogan, Marty Ball. What have you learned from your pops that's going to now help you as a head coach in terms of you being the full command of this offense. Well, it's funny, Isaiah, if you would have asked me 15 years ago, I probably would have been closer to my pops than I am today. You know, I mean, the Marty ball mantra in terms of running the football, taking care of the ball. Those are all things I believe in. But, you know, I've really been impacted over the last, you know, probably seven or eight years, being around a guy like Pete Carroll, but the one thing about my dad, he was just incredible with the attention to detail. I mean, you had to take the right footwork, the right step, you had to be this exact split, and I can just remember him in team meeting, just drilling guys about the specifics of the details. |
| 1:44.3 | And if the details aren't right, we can't win. And the other thing that I learned from him |
| 1:48.2 | was just fundamentals, the importance of fundamentals. If you've got two evenly matched players, |
| 1:52.2 | which happens a ton in this league, in a 65 or 70 play game, the guy that's going to win |
| 1:56.9 | ultimately the battle is the guy that's got the better foundation of fundamental with his feet, his hand placement, things like that. |
| 2:02.9 | So those are things that stick in my mind every day when I'm getting ready for practice. |
| 2:07.9 | What would Pop say? |
