We're going to begin with the election results. Democrats had a great night, winning two high-profile races for governor.

But maybe the most closely watched contest was right here in New York City, where Zohraamam Dhani won the race for mayor.

And Aaron Kuturski is here with the latest on this, Aaron, and we've been talking about this.

This had national implications, even though it was a mayor's race. And just an improbable and astonishing surge for Zara and

Momdani. And in several states, of course, here in the city, voters sent a message about the kind

of country they want to live in, electing candidates, including Mamdani, who promised change for

people struggling to afford to live, and in a couple of places that change made history.

And off-year election delivered a sweep for Democrats and a rebuke of President Trump.

Donald Trump, since I know you're watching, I have four words for you.

In New York, 34-year-old Democratic Socialists,

Oran Mamdani became the new voice of the nation's largest city.

Tonight, we have spoken in a clear voice.

Hope is alive.

Momdani is going to become the city's first Muslim mayor and its youngest in a century. He told GMA he can deliver on an ambitious, progressive agenda to include free child care, a rent freeze, and free buses.
