All right, Dr. Jen, let's talk to America's favorite doctor about medical news.

There's a new study out there that's talking about the possible link between daily marijuana use

and the increased risk of heart disease and

stroke. Yeah so two very common things. Cannabis use and the number one killer

of men and women heart disease. CDC looked at a study to see if there is an association

because past data has been a little conflicting.

It's hard to tease out people just on this variable.

So they looked at over 400,000 cannabis users. this

this was a self-reported, so that is very important because there's the potential for bias there

as people responded, but then followed their reports of heart attack, stroke,

coronary artery disease correlated that with their cannabis use over a period of

time of 30 days and their findings seem to suggest that the more frequent the use

the higher the risk. Daily cannabis use increased the risk of heart attack

odds by 25 percent and 42% increase in the odds of stroke. They did not say whether this was

smoking, vaping, or edible cannabis, so obviously needs more research

uh... but this was one of the first findings

that took out tobacco use age diabetes as risk factors
