media. If you missed our first episode on GLP ones with Dr. Terry Simpson, we're not going to leave

0:12.2

you high and dry. Today we're covering what GLP ones do in our body, what maintenance doses look

0:17.1

like, what coming off the GLP1 looks like can feel like, if you should, if you shouldn't, what the guidance is saying. Also, snacks, how to eat better, how to understand the difference between hunger, food noise, the science around GLP ones, all of it. It's giving like graduate school for GLP1s with none other than Dr. Kazarian. Dr. Kazarian is an incredible family doctor. She's based in D.C. I love her social media.

Thank you for having me.

Okay, so I just want to catch you up on like my little GLP1 story. Are you ready? I'm ready. So I started in like September of 2024. Then I did an episode like right when I very kind of first got on them with Dr. Terry Simpson, who I love.

1:11.0

He's like a great doctor. He's on TikTok. He like taught me about, I found him on my algorithm and then I had him on the pod. So what we really haven't covered GLP1s medically on the podcast since then, um, I went on my maintenance dosage like last summer because I was like, oh, I got there and I kind of wanted to like build more muscle and like work on getting stronger. So that's kind of where I am and where we left off. And I just have had so many people ask me questions. And I'm like, honey, I'm not a doctor. And so we wanted to have you one to just learn more about maintenance, like have a re-brush up on gLP ones because I haven't learned

1:45.3

about it for a hot minute. Can we play a game? Let's do it. Okay. Can I tell you how I think gLP ones work? And then you'll tell me if that's wrong. I'm obsessed with that. Okay, are you ready? Yeah, I'm ready. Okay. So basically what I learned from Dr. Simpson is is that our bodies make gLP ones, but they only last for like 45 minutes.

2:00.9

And you got to make like,

2:01.7

and you have to eat like the right amounts

2:03.2

of like things together at the same time. Simpson is, is that our bodies make gLP ones, but they only last for like 45 minutes. And you got to make like,

2:37.6

and you have to eat like the right amounts of like things together at the same time for your body to like make the gLP one, like your natural gLP one. So then this lady was like, I'm going to like manufacture a synthetic GLP one that like last longer in your blood. It lasts like six days so that you're like not dealing with all these like hunger like cues all the time or like food noise all the time so then she made that which is like what a glp1 is and so then you take your little glp1 and then it's basically a synthesized version of our naturally occurring glp1 but it stays in your blood for like the five to seven days so it really controls the food noise and then it kind of dissipates and then you like take it the next week or in my case like every two weeks and that's what it is right i'm so proud of you do you think that's right that was really good that was so good yes

2:43.7

absolutely yeah yeah yes yeah so exactly so it's glp1 is a hormone that our intestine makes when we eat

2:50.6

food but it goes away after a couple seconds.
